All issues that come to the Town can evaluated by answering the question: Does this improve the Quality of Life of the existing and future Town Residents? New residential and commercial development, new capital projects, parks, community events and traffic all impact the Quality of Life of our great Town. Decisions we make should be guided by the desire to maintain or improve Quality of Life and keep Flower Mound one of the most desirable places to live in Texas!
Brian believes the Master Plan is a great guide to the growth and development of the Town. Preference should be given to lower density housing and Smart Growth. Commercial Development helps generate tax revenue while providing services, offices, retail, restaurants, etc. to the residents of the Town to elevate our Quality of Life. New Commercial Development should be consistent with that goal and should take into account any adjacency concerns with existing developments.
Property Taxes should be reduced as much as possible. With increasing property values, it is critical to maintain a fiscally responsible budget for the Town so our taxes (rate and actual amounts we pay) remain reasonable. We cannot allow unchecked spending that is paid for with increased property tax revenue.
